Megaupload virus threats

lately when ever i download something from megaupload avg has been saying it blocked threats coming from different sites, usually the thereat is a toolkit. are these false? or could it be the ads on megaupload? or is megaupload just trying to infect me?(OH hia forum its been a while)

It won't be megaupload, it'd be what's in the file your downloading.I'm downloading a ps2 game from a trusted site, and nothing found.May i have the link to what it is-pm me if your worried.

I have avg and use megaupload quite often, so mds may be right it could be something in the file.

THe only thing i've been getting is the megaupper download spam whenever I open a megaupload link.

The probable cause is the pop-up you get when you click on the download link if you're a free user. (or the file you're trying to download is infected.)
Instead try this:
Right click on the "Regular Download" button and click "Save link as..." this allows you to download the file without the pop-up.
Also get the adblock plus addon for firefox to reduce risk of infection.

no the files are fine and scan clean. i think it might be the ads since avg says the web address of the thereat isn't megaupload.com
