Mario and luigi Bowser's inside story cracked rom still not working

After using windows parallels just to patch the ROM I'm still stuck on the SAME part, i'm at the part in the beginning you just got sucked into bowser and you have to jump on the pipe and press down, i do just that but nothing happens, i'm using mac version of desume, does anyone else have this problem? I seriously need help with this, it's starting to annoy me.
