Look after your goddamn games!

Ages ago I bought a second hand copy of Clock Tower 3-the only copy I could find-and today I decide to finally play it properly however it freezes less than ten minutes into the game. So I check the disc to find smudges and scratches which is kind of odd, normally I clean my second hand games as soon as I get them and usually I won't buy scratched games.Fair enough-I have a disc restorer thingy which should be able to remove smudges and surface scratches. The smudges are gone, but I'm not sure whether or not this revealed further scratches or the restorer itself has caused some of them. Nevertheless-this is a CD based game in a goddamn sturdy PS2 case. You'd have to be lobotomised to be unable to keep these clean and scratchfree!Even when I was 7 I could look after my Gameboy carts and my delicate PS1 discs! FFS! IT'S NOT DIFFICULT TO LOOK AFTER GAMES!!! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL PS2 EMULATION IS AS EASY AS SNES EMULATION TO PLAY A GAME! I know a kid somewhere around here who actually throws his game discs and rubs them on the carpet when he can't beat a game. I might go string him up with his own intestines to make a point ¬_¬I hate people so much sometimes.

I know the feeling. Every time my sister wants to borrow one of my CDs I make a copy and give her the copy, because I've learnt from experience it will be scratched to shit and unreadable when I get it back. When I get it back, it wouldnt be the first time she's lent one of my CDs to a friend of hers and I've never seen it again.

Always inspect the disc before buying it pre-owned.

When you buy second hand games they are always filled with finger prints... In care of disks instructions it says clearly not to touch the bottom side of a disk but yet idiots keep on doing it. And leaving their disks out in the open for dust to collect. One of my friends wanted me to copy their PS2 disk, (He doesn't have a DVD Writer) and the disk was so filled with scratches my computer wouldn't accept it.

You read disk instructions? LOLIf you scratch a disk, just rub non-gel toothpaste into it. Wash off the excess and if ya want buff it with car wax. Saves me 3$ every time I need to rebuff a disk.
PS: I buy bad condition pre owned CD games because they're cheaper, and it only costs 3$ to take every scratch perfectly off a disk for me.

There was something else that worked better... I think it was brasso. It removes scratches from anything. My dad uses it to fix up his glasses if they get scratched.

I demand perfection-now every EB games I go to shows me the games before hand, to the point of getting every copy of it in store and showing the condition-EVEN NEW GAMES BECAUSE THEY KEEP SCREWING AROUND WITH ME!I don't mind blemishes (light scrathes) or small straight lines...but circular ones are death.Plus orginal cases/manuals MUST be in good nick-I found a few mint classics at good prices before. And I don't repair disc-sometimes I find a place with a cd buffer and pay them $2 a disc, or just copy the disc iso...I saved a few games making copies like this...doesn't always work but only had 2 bad cases.

People give there old games for 2 reasons
1: Theres something wrong with it.
2: They need money or get tired of the game to refund half price. You can buy games online, some sell cheap because of pirated carts, but don't trust those, it can screw up real bad.

...which is why I like my GameCube. The disks don't seem to be as succesptble* to scratches. Though it might be the smaller surface area that isn't as big of a space to be scratched.*Yes, I know that that's a typo :P

So you pay $3 for a used disk?? Here I pay $1,50 for a new disk, pirate, but in good condition, pirate game's quality depends on the font, the original one, if it was in good condition.
Anyway I got a ps2 Resident Evil 4 for more than 2 years, so you can imagine the condition, few scratches, pirate, but work fine without freezes and stuff like that. Sometimes a disk without any borrow or scratches can stop workin', can be a clean disk....the reason for that, i dunno...maybe it's all random.
