laptop screen white dot
K
theres this little white dot in my laptop screen its not going a way. what could it be is it a physical problem or is it software?
B
Physical. You're going to need to send it in for repair/replacement.

Related to this, my laptop suddenly displayed faint white lines near the bottom of the screen. It was just a matter of realigning and reconnecting the LCD flexible cables, though. Got it done for free :) .
Send it in back to the service center, if it's still under warranty.

I had to remove the LCD screen from a laptop of mine to replace the backlight inverter board because the backlight went black whenever it was plugged into an outlet. Got it done for... uhh... twenty dollars.
I had to buy the replacement part, okay? It would cost hundreds if I sent it back to Dell. (It was then that I realized that I was going to stop buying Dell products. The laptop broke four days after the warranty expired.)

reparing laptops already? good job :)

Dead Pixel(s)?
B
L
usually called a stuck pixel actually, dead pixels are black.
B
Dead = Black
Hot = White
Stuck = Sub-pixel level dead or hot
W
Ah well, got a white pixel on my old monitor, and the guy who gave me a new one (even a bigger one :D) said it was dead, but hot is fine to me.
F
what is a green pixel? i got 1 stuck top left my monitor and its been there for 2 years.
L
a stuck pixel. Try pressing it firmly (NOT HARD) with your thumb or finger.
F
??? press it firmly but not hard ??? press it but don't touch it :P i'll try it and edit the post when done.i pressed it hard enough to discolor. not hard enough to break. didnt see it but pressed in the area it normally is in.will edit this post if i see it again.
