wtf, if he's gonna launch a nuke, he should fire it at himself... the world would be better w/o him
L
he'd die anyway, the nuclear fallout would cover the earth several times.
M
Yep,
the aftermath would be horrible..
B
Look, if he doesn't get assassinated then he will die soon anyway. But i do not think he will fire a nuclear warhead yet, if N. Korea does then well, there will be no more north Korea.

There is no possibilty that N. Korea's nuclear capacity could cause any long term fall out, nor would any nuclear response to a N. Korean launch. As we have learned from American nuclear attacks on Japan the damage from a nuclear attack is extreme and long lasting in a local area, people in Japan still suffer from those events but the criminals in America have suffered little more than sharp criticism. A limited nuclear exchange will effect those beyond the impact zones but will not kill the planet or us humans.I would like to present a link to a UK drama called "Threads" which deals with the concept of an all out nuclear war. I do not present this to scare anyone but to counter any idea that it is ok to use a nuclear weapon. This drama was first shown in the UK during some very tense times in the "cold war", and contains some strong imagery and disturbing footage.I understand that content on RomUlation should be held within the PG-13 boundary which I support. I first saw this when I was 12 with my mum and dad, it did scare me and freak me out, and I am sure my parents where aware of my reactions and delt with them accordingly. I think this is a good film for people to see, if you watch expect it to disturb and disgust you. You have been warned.WARNING this film is very challenging and something to watch and discuss among friends.http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2023790698427111488

modern nuclear warheads are considerably more powerful than the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs.

Not if you are N. Korea. I should explain sorry, N. Korea's enrichment programme is very much akin to test enrichment in America during the 1960's, that is not to say they are only using 1960's tech, far from it. The raw and processed materials they have access to are very crude. You can be safe to know that China has made sure of that.
B
poor philippines we have nothing to exchange with their nukes...
that sucks

@bhatooth, watch the film I linked to and be glad you are free from nukes.

their latest test was measured at between 15 and 20 kilotons, equalling the power of 'Little Boy', which was dropped on Hiroshima. Fat Man, the Nagasaki bomb, was only 21 kilotons so they're close to that too. Regardless, should they attack a nuclear armed state then a nuclear retaliation would be catastrophic. to put it into context, a single poseidon missile (the forerunner to the Trident in current use by the US/UK) contains 14 warheads of 40-50 kilotons each. It is fair to assume that Trident, while classified, is significantly more powerful, containing up to 12 warheads estimated to be within the region of eight times the power of Little Boy. While I can only speculate about how many of these missiles the US has ready at any one time, the UK has 16 on constant standby. They can be launched in mere minutes.

Of course they can.

Loonylion · #10Regardless, should they attack a nuclear armed state then a nuclear retaliation would be catastrophic.
Why? A nuclear launch by N. Korea would be
at best suicide. So why assume any response would be nuclear? and even if it where why assume that response would be total and not contained? Do you think a trident like payload would be needed to take out N. Korean nuclear capacity? I think if they(N.Korea) do fire the big one, which I realy doubt they will, conventional forces will be very quick to come in from places like China and end N.Korea as we know it.

As Loonylion said yes they can, watch the film and see why they will not.. I know it is long sorry.

so explain to me why do countries with no nukes should be glad about it?

In a nuclear war those countries with nuclear weapons are targets, if you don't have the bomb why waste a misslie on you.
B
ahh... but if they just want to nuke us for their fun then...
D
bhatooth · #14so explain to me why do countries with no nukes should be glad about it?
well, except if you are ally of those countries that have those nuclear bombs. I think japan has no nuclear bombs, or just assume that Japan has no nuclear bombs, there is still the US base there, i dont believe that the US base and japan will not be target...
but like prinny said, if you dont have a threat, you are not worthy of being targetted... unless we are the damn neutral country that is secretly helping one side...
B
of course our country will stick to the strongest ally it has the US i think
R
japan only has a self defense force, like a support card, it's not good alone but its very good when paired with another army... oh if NK does shoot off a missile china won't stand for it. china uses NK as a buffer zone to keep U.S. allies away from the border. but if NK does shoot it, china will do nothing to save NK. and russia will just watch......and drink vodka.
D
Replying to #19
well, russia i think is not into china anymore since the expulsion of its advisers during the 1960's or something. and if N.Kor will shoot a missile, then there are 2 sides and another world war will start, 1 which condems the N.Kor and the other that praises it. maybe tehran or chavez...
