Local eb games got it early :D(Any other Aussie's got this?)Now, I read the reviews...and I ignored them, for the flaws of this one are exactly the same as the first.I liked the first, but without much incentive I stopped playing that after I beat it on normal. This one has a fair few modes, training, story (co-op online and 2 player split screen) as well as customization, it's not bad...I have yet to get to the train level yet, but it seems that while some of the levels of the demo came as expected, it's not in the same way (after the second section in the co-op demo, you fought that BIG akrid, in this you fight a different one, guess you fight him later...)I have yet to try online play yet as I'm capped, but the ai partners, while useless and can't be controlled, least they act like a guide during levels (they know which way to go at least). Now, I got the collector's edition, and i have to say..I'm disappointed by the contents, first of all the dvd (not blue ray) is in a paper slip case (possibly to save money in making it), the post cards are nice and big, but the akrid figure...It's the size of a hot wheels car, I was expecting hand size! And the theme (dynamic) wasn't as I hoped, all it has is some flicket and the odd "beam of light" buzz about, so it's not livly looking like other dynamic themes (btw-the code to download it MUST be entered on a pc to the described website, which after the real psn code will be emailed and shown on screen). My verdict-if you like shooters, like them insanly hard, willing to ignore the flaws, and have played the first, get this, if you haven't played the first, rent it...And don't bother with the collector's edition, you don't need it...unless you pre-ordered at eb and got the price of standard like I did, and even them...it's a waste of space.

I'll probably just rent this for the single player, and that'll be it.

I'm loving it, I played 4 player co-op earlier today and it's really the only way to play. It's fun.
K
well, i thought this game would be more fun if i could actually see what i was shooting so i redownloaded for my ps3 when i got an HD. the controls do not agree with me and the action just feels... nothing.
Co-op had people fragging people since those damned things don't look any different from those glowing balls...i passed on this game way before the review, but it had its moments.

wat?
It seems like you've only played the demo, in which case, there's no human enemies in the co-op demo.
Clarify.
Also I think the reviews for this game are way out of proportion and are based solely on it's single player portion. While the game is incredibly faulty in it's single player, it's co-op mechanics and set pieces are incredible and unmatched in any other game. That more than makes it up to me. Also, fun boss battles, woo. A lot of the negatives are the same negatives as RE5, and some with Lost Planet 1.
Also the controls are fine, it's a bit more complex than any other shooter, it's not hard to get used to AT ALL (R shoot, L grenade, X grapple, clicky right stick reload, left stick crouch, B melee, A jump, Y switch, L+Y switch to T-ENG gun (which you won't do much), bumpers are used to look 90 degrees in their respective directions. Really, if you're complaining about controls, there's something wrong with the player.

Yeah, they definitely didn't pay enough to get good reviews. Reviewers are a bunch of lazy assholes now days. Halo 3 obviously paid enough to have their disastrous single player/co op overlooked in favour of their decent (8/10 at most) online multiplayer and somehow pulled 10/10s out of nowhere. Lost Planet 2 is a game I thoroughly enjoyed playing co op, yet the reviewers seem to have nit picked at the single player mode for some reason. /rant

people throw grenade, people think it's a score ball thing, we go BOOM!

Unless you do it on easy it's bullcrap hard, and frankly it's no fun this way.
I could do it, but it's not for everyone.

I wish you had the ps3 version :(
...you were right about the frame rate prediction though...

Controls are a mess, but I'm fine with them.
And the co-op players on the DEMO are idiots, enough said.
(And no human ai enemies in he demo ethier :P )

What it is is they are used to throwing them and forget humans are around, I've been hit by trusted friends on the demo...
I done it a few times, hit the wrong grenade button :(

Kage56 · #7people throw grenade, people think it's a score ball thing, we go BOOM!
What does this even mean?
Play the game before you have a judgment. The demos don't give the game justice, as they only have one set piece battle.
It's going to be extremely overlooked and have a community that lasts for a long long time, just like the first.
K
okay, you have the full game but you still can't figure out what i'm talking about?
do you know what a grenade is?
do you know what the glowing balls that burst out of monsters like pinatas are for?
do you know what some people do when they see those?
do you know what happens when a late grenade near your vicinity explodes?
demos don't give it justice, but they're still part of the game.

eh, i've done that but that was because i was rushing :P
my reticle just flys when i try to keep it on the glowing parts of their body while mobile.

In the co-op demo, many players just muck about, I've had a few co-op matches on the real one.
Turn friendly fire OFF and you won't have such an issue, you can't do that on the demo.
And no need to trash the demo JUST because you got careless morons abusing grenades.

I only use them on vs's and humans in an multi-player game now, akrid move too fast to hit the glowing parts correctly.

Also letting fellow ps3 owners know, there is some glitch that affects trophies...beating the story mode doesn't give the trophy it's meant to :(
Unknown for 360 owners, please post if this has changed.

Shoot the grenades then.
There's no achievement glitch in the 360 version, although there is a problem with playing splitscreen and the second player not getting any.

...um...shooting those thrown could still hurt...I'd rather run unless it's miles away.
Oh, right now I'm doing a faction match, the counter grab matches are easy once you know where the only data post is :)

I Already have it too. and just like the first one, this sequel is an ok game just to keep your busy some time...
