IRC

So I went onto this IRC client chat protocol and tried it out for the first time today and I am confused. When you type something does every person see what you are saying or is there some sort of method to this madness? The reason I ask was because people were talking about the most random and disconnected ideas that you could imagine, and I figured that there was something quite important that I did not catch. Any explanations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
miros

Everyone sees all. Chaos ensues. Welcome to IRC.

welcome to ircthe most random place ever

Interesting, thank you for the explanations, however I do not think that these IRC clients are for me. I will just stick to the forum.

What do you mean "mirc"? Is this another chat client like the IRC? Would you mind explaining?

IRC is the name for the network protocol. mIRC is a program that talks IRC and can connect to the IRC network and RomUlation channel. Other clients are Chatzilla and Mibbit.
