In Pokemon Dimond and Pearl what starter Should I start off with?

I still prefer Fire Pokemon, so Chimchar :D

Infernape is usually a pokemon that is used on wi fi battles and I read that it was a good mixed sweeper for a team. So I think chimchar would be a good starter. You can win against the 1st gym by using it's mach punch even if it does not do an instant kill to the geodude, onix and cranidos.

The decision's all up to preference. But Grass-types are weakness-prone, so Turtwig's out, IMO.
Chimchar if you want to hit fast and hard with Close Combat & Flare Blitz.
Piplup if you want an excellent water type - Empoleon. Plentiful resistances, good defense and decent offensive capability.

Renji217First of all why hasnt your chimchar evolved yet?? It should have been a Monferno at Lv 14. Seccond I would loose the Machop. Your Monferno will be part fighting (if you evolve him) so its pointless to have two. I would get a Spiritomb to replace him. Its a Ghost/Dark pokemon that is resistant to poison attacks, immune to normal, fighting, and psychic attacks and has no weakness!! The only down side is that its slow but you can always equipt it with a qwick claw and hope for the first attack.

1. Goldenrod City there is a Name Rater where you can change the pokemons name.2.Blackthorn City there is a Move Deleter where you cna delete any move you want3. Once you get the National Pokedex you can trade it from D/P/Pt

Renji217The only thing I can see is that he will learn Flamethrower at Lv 41 but hes giveing away Mach Punch, Flame Wheel, and Close Combat. To me thats not worth it. There is also Slack Off at Lv 36 but Monferno can also learn that at Lv 46 and you dont have to give away any good moves while doing so.

1. No, but with some luck, you can change it with Name Rater*.
2. Yes, with a Move Deletor*.
3. You need a certain item, and talk to 32 people in Shinou Underground (http://serebii.net/diamondpearl/mikaruge.shtml).* It's a person, not an item.

chimchar straight off if you teach it the right moves it can be very powerful i took on the elite 4 with just my chimchar and whiped the floor with them all
