Even if you're joking about that, I thought you were religious and that it was a significant part of your life if you were trying to get a girlfriend based off that premise of being so religious. Instead, I think it would have been more appropriate if you had just said that you thought she was the most beautiful girl you ever met. Or something like that. Look, if it takes you 24 hours to do a 180 and fall in love with a different girl, you're definitely not the (long-term) relationship type.
And some girls tend to be very liberal in their giving of hugs. I wouldn't take it as a sign. In fact, if she hugs lots of people, but not you, THAT might be more of a sign. If she hugs lots of people AND you, you're somewhere in the friend zone. However, if she only seems to hug you, maybe.

You never been to a party before, girls hug and kiss each other all the time, that doesn't make them automatic lesbians.
