SephI have nothing personally to bring to the table since I live in a country where gay people are pretty free to do whatever they want ad not be abused for it, but this thread reminded me of an incredible tale from an amazing person within the PHP community.

Wow, I totally missed that... and thank you for the link, Seph. It's reasons like that, where someone can't even say goodbye to a loved one and to someone who loved them in return because of some bigoted prick... that's why I've no faith in humanity.
sexywogboy · #30When you've got freinds that are like that, are they really considered freinds?I mean it's only common sense, that if they know your gay...they atleast try to make you feel as normal as you should be. I really get annoyed by people like that, where they feel they have the right, to offend anyone, even if they feel they're just joking around.A normal or good friend, would respect and accept your sexuality, and and not say stupid things like "Don't be such a faggot", that to me is really childish.
They really do just talk like that, and it's not entirely concerning. However, this isn't my first choice of friends, but the group whose company I do enjoy is breaking up, with its members moving across both the country and the world, so I have to work with this group, instead >.<
c740Oh Yeah! What do you guys talk about? Music(CD),Literature(BOOK),RUMORS(LIES or TRUTH),WOMAN(SEXY & ASS) as i can see and here they're physical goods and when it comes to economics, people buy stuff to impress others and to satisfy they're never ending greed.

they don't like you because of your personality they like you because you like talk about the same stuff without those stuff you would'nt even know what to communicate and they will even say you've change just because he/she did'nt like what you did,a rumor was raised againts you or because you have different interest and believe this won't work anymore.
(I apologize in advance for any wrongdoings.)
One day, my friend had a girlfriend break up with him. I hadn't talked to him much about it, but I began seeing some downturns in his actions and in his mannerisms - he just wasn't as bright and cheery has he had once been. On a Friday, he asked me to come home with him, but didn't specify any reason.
Upon arriving at his home and his uncleaned room, however, it didn't take long to figure out. On his desk were a number of razors. His parents were away for the weekend. He had a selfish personality.
We sat and talked for almost two hours, and he just said whatever he needed to about his life and his problems.
I, effectively, saved his life. I was a friend, a true friend, in a moment where he could come to never exist anymore. We talked nothing of the superficial, of the economic, of the material things we had purchased, but of the things that actually matter of this world - human nature. And, in the context of the conversation, I had nothing else in common with him on the matter.
Nevermind that we do talk about games, music, books, things at school, who we have crushes on (or, rather, who he has a crush on - these people are ridiculous when it comes to women xD), because that's just stuff to talk about. We enjoy talking.
I didn't think it was ever right to say this, but... c740, your opinion is wrong. And the fact that one Alec Richey is alive to this day is just enough reason to prove that.
The reason that I, myself, am still alive, is because I have built friends not upon the superficial elements of the relationship, but on the deep connections we have. There have been multiple moments in my life wherein people, not quite unlike yourself, have made me feel as though I should not only die, but I would be doing the world a favor through the ending of my own life.
I only know three people who share one interest that I do - homosexuality - and I have yet to ever talk to them about that key interest, as I talk to my friends, my honest-to-God friends, about that first. And the fact that I have to defend my own existence and who I befriend is just
sick.
