History Cleaner
F
Could somebody please tell me if there's a piece of freeware out there that'll clean out my browser's history every time I close it? I was using GoGoData Toolbar but I think they've died. I tried reinstalling it today and all I got was this weird .ini database error message.

Yep.
That's probably the best one out there.

I agree with everyone else: CCleaner is the best for all your cleanup needs.
But CCleaner does not automatically clean after each closing of the window. I think in Firefox you can set it to not save the History...

Yes but will it trash your history every time you close your browser?

No. It only does that if you set it to do so.
You can uncheck the webbroswer history from it cleaning it.

If you use Firefox, you can set it to completely wipe your browser history, cache, cookies, etc. every time you close it. You can also set it up to ask you instead, so you can choose whether or not to wipe when you close.I thought the latest IE had this option too (but I haven't used IE in so long I'm not sure).

You can, but it takes forever.
And I'm not sure about IE 8, but IE 6 doesn't have any neato options like Firefox does.

you can also use google chrome 'incognito mode' which never keeps your cookies/browsing history etc..

OMG
Decisions, decisions, decisions! ;v)

IE doesn't, but i would recommend this....i don't like chrome cuz it's so featureless....

I use this.
There is a private browsing option on nearly every browser, but they don't just leave out web history, they don't keep cookies. I wouldn't recommend this over FF's auto-clear option.

I use ClearProg... but it was not automatically clean out every time you close browser...
Check it out :

Use parameter "/ini" so you can save your configuration in "clearprog.ini", not in registry.
