Help with my computer

Yea, I have a bunch of viruses on this computer so I want to reinstall windows xp on it.
Compaq Presario SR1910NX
I have a windows disc, but I don't have the drivers disc, and I have no clue what to doHardware is:
AMD sempron processor 3200+
512MB memory
120gb hard drive
Nvidia Geforce 6150 LE
PCI Express slotWhen I install windows, do I need to go on a scavanger hunt for all the drivers /

drivers for the video card and motherboard? you should be able to download the drivers off of their site. i did that when i had to reinstall and lost my driver disks.

yes. and any of the manufacturers websites if applicable.drivers are easy. but time consuming. windows will install into a functional condition. but it's basic and blech. you will need to do all the directx and hardware drivers, service pack 2+3 free on windows website as downloadable. then run windows update, update windows update "does by auto" and then run it and update all the windows BS.if your into any custom settings, it's a btch to get them back, i run things like tweak ui and have custom icon sizes and everything.

Yeah, some drivers can be a real hassle, especially if you can't find them online for an older computer or they don't work

yeah man,theres a program called Driver genius,it's pretty simple to use.(i'll help if you cant figure it out)
you should be able to find it on demonoid. :D

nice to know im not the only one, you dont have its not a laptop is it? because i read something that said you should only install drivers from you laptops produces website if you have laptop

not necessarily true, although some device manufacturers (namely ATi), refuse to supply drivers for their laptop devices,meaning you're at the mercy of the laptop manufacturer, and they virtually never update drivers. Which is why omega drivers exist.
