Gas prices spiking till 4th of July, Predicted to decline afterward.
L
The prices of Unleaded Gas has been increasing as of late. According to multiple news sources, this price hike is predicted to reach it's peek on the 4th of July, after which, it is predicted to decline as the Summer begins to wind down. When the school year in September starts up gas prices will decline. Why is this happening?
This is because on the week of the 4th of July, people travel everywhere, people are also out of work. The oil companies are taking advantage of this opportunity and are jacking up the prices of gas to make a quick profit. It is stuff like this that makes me sick.It seems like the only way to open, manage, and make a billion is to rip people off in the most dishonest way possible.

you americans don't know what you're complaining about. Our fuel prices are heading towards $8 USD a gallon, and they're only that low because the USD exchange rate is shit right now. If it was what it used to be, we'd be looking at nearer $10 a gallon.

Yeah, I feel sorry for you folks in Europe and other continents...
While we complain about a 3.00 price tag. You guys are paying up to 3 times as much....
K
You guys in Europe drive those funny little cars to compensate for gas price! No real point to this post...other than your cars are funny. :P

don't you think its America with the problem since you drive 4x4s just to go down the road, not only adding to global warming but also diminishing your own health by not getting any exercise.

Uh, yeah. America has MANY problems. I actually hate it here. I plan on moving somewhere a little more liberal like Canada. When I made that post I wasn't trying to be pro this or anti that. I hate my country and plan on moving. My nation is overwhelmingly ignorant. I was simply making a witty remark about the shape of the body of Europe's ecologically friendly automobiles. I'm a tree hugger and I respect any attempt to better this earth. By the way, I'm not fat. 6'3'' 200 lbs, all muscle, son.PLUR

I don't know if this is true or not but I've also heard that the minimum wage in european countries is about 2 to 3 times higher than the USA so that would of course be another reason for higher prices. Everything goes up with inflation.
K
Yeah I make $6.55/hour. Which is sad. I'm resorting to making techno on my free time in hopes to release an actual album. We'll see how that goes. :-\

8USD for a gallon? is that diesel or gasoline? hm.. here, gasoline is expensive than diesel so many cars, specially the public utility vehicles, use diesel. we dont charge by the gallon but by letters...so mostly a gallon is 3.8 liters..lets round to 4 liters.
as i remember the diesel in our station is 30 pesos/liter, and the exchange rate is probably 1USD=48 pesos. so mostly a gallon of diesel is like 2.5USD , rough estimate.
and mostly gas is ranging 35-40 pesos/liter. 3-3.5 USD/gallon...
hm, why is it like doubled or tripled in other countries, mostly Europe? where did they buy their oil?

There's no law that you have to charge everyone in the world the same price, no matter where they are.Oil companies can charge more in specific places if they feel like it.If the cars weren't so funny looking, and looked more normal (keeping everything else equal), I'd buy one.I'd love to have a really small lightweight sporty coupe, turbodiesel 5cyl electric hybrid, with a 6spd manual transmission. Automatics aren't efficient enough for me, and they have more lag than an actual turbo does. Add a turbo with an automatic, and you'll sit there for a few seconds before it punches. Also, if you want to increase fuel efficiency and power, let your damn car breathe. Put a bigger exhaust pipe on (no matter how ricey it sounds) and get a better filter. Installing a turbo increases both of those, but that's more expensive and takes much longer to pay for itself in fuel efficiency.Stay away from convertibles since the parts make it heavier than it's nonconvertible version. Take out anything that you don't need. Replace easy to install parts with lighter ones. Don't put in a 50 lb. subwoofer and complain about gas mileage.Take off spoilers. They create drag.

hmmm, well, i dont drive a manual, always automatic, because i cant even start a manual without scaring me to death, with the broom at the start, unlike a automatic, turn the switch, just put the lever to drive then just press on the gas, no clutch, no hassle.also, does anybody know thats the oil deregulation law is? for Filipinos or any other people that knows that stuff... cause from what i think, its about the government allowing the oil companies put what price they want on their products.

I like having more control on my shifts, even if I am dumping the clutch too much. I like having better control on my turns as well. Not many cars with automatics can take a sharp curve at 50 mph. Most autos just slip and go straight. Torque steering helps you turn. RWD also helps too.
I miss driving a stick. Next car I buy is definitely going to be a stick.
Gas prices have gone down since the 4th, but they're still high.
I haven't driven in 3 weeks now.

Good point, except if you're going that fast, I'm sure you're not worrying about gas efficiency. hehe. ;D

well its 10th of july here in australia and prices are higher than ever. $1.27 per liter. Nothing compared to america but it used to be $1.00-1.03 a liter.
