It's true. Every single week, you turn on the TV to find several awful game shows airing on 90% of the channels. The writers for the game shows must be lucky bastards. They're the only one's allowed to make people look like blabbering idiots who can't follow simple logic.Anyways. There's this new game show one NBC or ABC. The commercials advertised it as a show where you get prizes for answering questions--- quite like every other fucking game show in the world. But they had a catch to it. If you answer incorrectly, you and your prizes get dropped off the Empire State building. If they promised a day out with the crew behind Disney's animated movies, I would hit my head with a hammer and sign up right away.So two nights ago, I tuned into the show and found out they launched replica prizes off of the empire state building instead of the actual thing. Those bitches can't do anything correctly, can they? Then directly afterwards, they showed us the prizes that you can win. First up was a damned gumball machine. A GUMBALL MACHINE. Who the hell wants that? Then the host taunted us with the line "Man, can you imagine what that would look like if it were to fall?" I DUNNO. WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?After minutes of the host droning on about the terrible prizes, the game finally starts. You'll then realize that it's basically "Who wants to be a millionaire" except now it's, "Who wants to be a regular person?" I mean, the top prize was $5,000. Who the hell cares if that falls off of a building? I've wasted a good $50,000 kicking my brother off the roof and proceeding to body slam him, and the novelty of that still hasn't worn off yet. I'll post pics of the scars later. Before they even began to start, I turned off the T.V and resumed doing what I did before. There was absolutely nothing about the show that made me want to continue watching. I don't care if you hire some dumbass attention whores to act like idiots for you. The only thing that could have gotten you to watch their show was the promise of things falling and crashing. WE DON'T NEED HUMAN INPUT TO SLOW DOWN THE SHOW. MAKE THE THINGS FALL AND CRASH ALREADY.Now onto the subject of the completely obvious. Shows like, "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" and, "Deal or No Deal?" Both are awful shows. I'm not sure about which one is worse. They seem to air one after another and the total cash prizes have dropped. The only thing that kept the shows alive for this long is the fact that no one has won the maximum prizes possible. Every single day of the week they would try to lure us in by making us wonder if the certain person has won the top prize. BZZZT--- What's this? A man from the future? He's telling me that no one will ever win the top prizes?I have reason to believe that the audience of Deal or No Deal is really stupid or it's completely fake. One time, after the contestant said no deal, two different people from the audience yelled "NO DEAL" like they were supposed to do it five seconds ago. I probably shouldn't need to wonder why every person in the audience is a silhouette. BECUZ THEY AIN'T THERE DUUUUURRRRRR.Given the chance that I may actually be wrong about the fake audience, there's still only a 5% chance that you'll actually win $1,000,000. Actually, now there's a 0% now that the maximum is somewhere around $500,000. The show blows. There are several similarities between the two shows. They're both hosted by shitty comedians, only stupid people actually get to play on the shows, and it's all about acting. Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader does entertain me though. They ask six questions and each contestant gets three lifelines. I fail to see why every contestant picks the easy questions first and waste their lifelines on the easy questions. There was a show on Fox a few years ago where a contestant was strapped to a lie detector and had to answer a series of questions. The show is already flawed in many ways. Lie detectors can get tricked, contestants were only asked yes or no questions; meaning that the truth would have been known either way, and it was five minutes worth of a T.V. show, and 25 minutes worth of commercials.I think it's funny how they tried to make the show more interesting by making you sit and wait for the lie detector to do its job. After the contestant decides to answer yes or no, you'll have to wait for the lie detector to say if the person lied or not. And this isn't just waiting for a few seconds. It takes them minutes to deliver the answer. I wouldn't have a problem with this normally, but the fact that there are more commercial versus questions bugs me a lot.Game shows suck. :-X
