Free the Airwaves ~ Google At it Again [US]

-Taken from Freetheairwaves.comRemember that fuzzy static between channels on the old TVs? Today more than three-quarters of those radio airwaves, or "white space" spectrum, are completely unused. This vast public resource could offer a revolution in wireless services of all kinds, including universal wireless Internet. The FCC will soon decide whether to open this unused spectrum for general usage, and your voice matters -- a lot. So if you agree that freeing the white spaces represents a vote for the future of the Internet, please sign our petition and help spread the word about this campaign.http://freetheairwaves.com/Also Digg and spread the word ;Dhttp://digg.com/tech_news/Free_the_AirwavesOh and sign the petition while your at it

this is a good idea but it will be like heaven for wireless hackers

Pretty cool.

Agreed.

Global wireless? so it's like one giant router?

Does this mean, that because the white noise comes free, we get free internet?? Would be great.. what sort of speeds are we talking about aswell??

not possible, speeds would have to be shit for it to have any kind of range.
