Quit any Disk Utiliies or other programs that are using, and make sure that no window is displaying the content of the drive. Than try formatting again. But i did not run any program at that time so why cant i format it ??

P
So there is nothing i can do ??
L
use a boot disk?
P
Boot Disk ???Is it something i buy or something i download
L
if you don't know how to make/use a boot disk you probably shouldn't be trying to format your system drive...
P

Hey PhantomKid. If you don't have a copy of the operating system, don't format your C Drive. because once you format your C drive, you cannot boot into it any longer. All your settings, programs, data, etc. will be gone.
A
That's kind of obvious, everyone knows that. I hope..

I am just reminding phantom just incase. not everyone knows 1+1=2. Everyone have to start from somewhere. because he doesn't seems to know what's a bootdisk is (he asked about buying it). So I just want to make sure and save him from all the trouble.
P
Yes i know at least that much and you spell my name wrong. Almost everyone spell my name wrongly

that's naive to think that way and jacoblam365 sees what i see.
not everyone is computer literate and not everyone can understand it.
anyway, don't format [delete] your computer unless you own an operating system [windows xp, vista, etc...].
B
Why do you want to format C: in the first place? Reinstall Windows or something?
