FireWire problem

Hi guys,I have a cam with firewire but or the cable is broken or the card....
Or is their something else? After a uninstall of some dvd burning programs my camera doesn't want to connect anymore even AFTER REINSTALLING THE SAME THINGS...So what is happing?

check the firewire drivers are installed on your computer.

And is that different for each cam?

not usually, its the firewire controller in the PC that needs drivers.
