Everything you need to know about points

This is just to help new people to the site understand the points system, i hope it helps. Any questions, feel free to PM me.Points are used to download ANY type of game from Romulation that is over 75 MB, the cost is determined by the size. For example, a game that is 97 MB, will cost 97 points. Very simple.When your account is created, you receive 500 free points automatically, and you will earn 50 additional points for everyday you visit the site ( 150 if you are a premium member ).There are more ways to gain points in addition to visiting the site. I'll list a few:
- Become a premium member, ( to do this you must donate $15 and the membership is good for 2 months ).
- buy 10,000 pts. by donating at least $5.
- do community projects that reward points such as
-uploading screen shots
- site translations
- and of course, competitions
Competitions are usually puzzle games or online scavenger hunts ( very challenging, for me at least ) and those give big points for the winner(s).EDIT: i lied about the download speeds ;D ( not intetionally ) sincerely,

This is also described in the introduction section which everyone ought to read. :)And I would just like to say that while the downloading method of a premium user CAN be different from a normal user then there's no limit on either of them (yet) so I doubt there's actually any difference in download speed.

Ooh, I have a needy question that I couldn't see in the intro section. Say you don't download anything for, say, a year. Will the points still be there? I'm guessing they will be, but I'm not sure really.

Yes, your points will still be there, they don't get removed, though we might put a max at some point.
Also you only get 50 points if you've had activity in the last 7 days.

Beside using points to download, can i use it for something else?

seph has hinted at more uses on the way, but as to what they are, i don't know. :P he hasn't told us yet.

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere, I've searched the forums and haven't found an answer yet, including this post. My question is, I notice you can buy 10,000 points for as little as a $5 donation or you can become a Premium Member for 150 points a day (for 3 months) for $15, but does the Premium Membership also start you out with a nice lump sum of points too? Or do you have to wait 90 days to accrue 13,500 points? (90 times 150).

no, there is no lump sum with a premium membership. I will investigate having that clarified.
