Ok, tried a second time, it ejected my disc, and asked me to put it back in, I did, and the error came up again at 11% on the second go...Does it matter after it ejects the disc and put it back in?

you said the side says cd rw then dvd rom....does it say anything about DVD-RW or anything about writing dvd's because if it doesn't that means you can only read dvd's not write them...unless the drive is labeled terribly.assuming you can write onto dvd's- I would start off by cleaning the inside of the drive and see if that works.- If not you should download the latest firmware for your drive...which requires you to figure out what DVD drive you have, google should take care of that. Also people claim the only blank DVD's you should use are verbatim (the ones made in japan not Taiwan) or Taiyo Yuden. You usually have to order those online, so i just use sony and I've never had a problem burning an ISO with imgburn..so if you are using any other kind of blank media besides those brands...that could just as well be the problem, bad discs

...It burnt something onto the disc...but yeah...another coaster :(Isn't the program meant to warn you if it can't be done? And how can I find out which firmware to download-it crossed my mind but I don't een know which model it is...Well thanks anyways, prehaps cleaning the drive may be needed...the drive pauses during dvd playback...and some cd's have failed (though not this bad)...The only other thing it says it has ultra speed...but it won't help now will it?All I know is it's burnt something and it's no use on my emu-I might get an external drive one day and se how I go-can you get external dvd rw drives? Thanks for your help-you done this alot me thinks :)

yes, you can get external DVD-RW drives, I have one. I would suspect your internal drive either was never capable of burning DVDs (i.e its not a dvd burner) or its lost the capability.
