...that's fucked up.I'd join the people wearing englad shirts running around like morons to fight this stupid ruling!(Even though my country is tied to you guys and I want that severed, that's still fucked up that you can't wear your own colours-what's next-YOU CAN'T LIVE IN YOUR OWN HOMES!?)

Some guy got a visit from the police because of a sign he had in his window, reading 'get them all out' (a reference to the corrupt politicians in government/parliament) just before the election. They ordered him to take them it down because the letters were red, white and blue and that might offend foreigners. As if the police dont have better things to do, like dealing with the spiraling crime rate and electoral fraud...

Offend foreigners?Reminds me of someone in Australia with a simerlar issue...except it WAS THE BLOODY NATIONAL FLAG ON A FLAG POLE!!!ONLY ONE PERSON COMPLAINED TO THE COUNCIL AND THEY ACTED, THE REST OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS FINE WITH IT!(Totally rubbish, maybe I should join the group of drunken bogans and proclaim "F*** off we're full", I'm hearing stories like this too often...it's driving me insane to even think of such a thing...)

I bet the queen still has her union jack flying at buckingham palace, i wonder what would happen if foreigners complained about that.
Im still in shock, i really cant believe england football shirts are banned
something big is going to happen if this carries on, theres a bit of an outcry going on

no one complained, the police busybodies saw it and stuck their noses in because it *MIGHT* offend someone. god forbid that they actually do what they are paid to do and uphold the law. If they're bored they could always investigate the labour and conservative MPs, a large number of them use very legally dubious accounting methods.

But we have the same issue with the bloody flag as well, I mean...WTF IS WRONG WITH AUSTRALIA!(Maybe the queen is influencing our government with this stupid flag thing...I dunno :( )

because we're importing minorities that hate our guts. and the government kisses their asses. Our police are now slaves of their political masters, as the expenses scandal proved plain as day. FOUR MPs on trial for false accounting, when its perfectly clear that at least 10x that number are guilty of serious fraud and misuse of public money. Sacrificial lambs to pacify the masses. if there was a REAL investigation into the expenses farce, both houses would be virtually empty, and there'd be hundreds of now ex-MPs in jail. If any normal person tried even a fraction of what MPs get away with they'd lose their job and probably be jailed. Not to mention spending the rest of their lives paying back the money and the fines.

OK, I'm not from the UK, but I agree with msg's point. It's your country & a little Patriotism should be allowed. And I'm a bit surprised those in power (in your country) to an extent "fears" foreign immigrants & wants to please them more than their country men per se. Is the treat of terrorist retaliation that intense there that the higher ups are such at an edgy state of mind when it comes to foreign relations?

britain contains the most terrorists in europe according to the FBI and europol. Simply because we're not allowed to deport them/government refuses to deport them. the government bow down to every demand non-english people make and we english are completely ignored. if we try and complain we're branded 'racist' and 'bigoted'. We have no immigration controls whatsoever, and a benefits system that encourages sponging. Plus free healthcare.

That is so wrong :PIf somebody IS indeed a terrorist or federal offender (even though they are foreign dignitaries), they should be dealt with & handed to the authorities. I take it they (the people in power) have such a twisted view about what is considered racist or not eh? The fact they are looking at a person's ethnicity to over rule whatever transgressions said person has is just being paranoid. And about the Government prioritizing non English people over their own? Man that's just not right either :P No wonder people like remnoca used to jest on hating foreigners staying in the UK.Going off topic a bit...So, what was the result of your country's previous elections? I do hope whoever won does something about these unfair policies your country has.

we're in a worse situation than we were before. the election was highly suspect (a fact confirmed by international election monitors). and no-one won an outright majority. So we have a coalition government comprising of the party that got the most seats and the party that got the third most. These two parties are polar opposites in policy, so they've had to negotiate and the result is both parties have abandoned many of their policies, so no-one gets what they voted for. so far its all talk and no action, and they're still failing to address the main causes of our problems: uncontrolled immigration, membership of the EU and sending vast amounts of money to countries with bigger economies than ours. At least they've officially acknowledged what we've long suspected: the previous government went mad on spending in the last 6 months and we are now completely and utterly flat broke.

Are you sure? I would have put money on more terrorists being in Ukraine or somewhere like that, hell even Ireland would have been higher in my mind, unless you are talking exclusively about captured terrorists?

Free healthcare isn't a bad thing if offered to citizens, from what I've read of your country's policies regarding foreign nationals though, the rules seem far too lax and your government seems to bend over backwards to be PC to the point of ridiculousness.

afraid not, its terrorists at large. its our governments' 'immigrants can do no wrong' attitude coupled with the EU human rights act we're forced to follow and the free for all benefits system.

the free healthcare is a draw because its not restricted to people who have paid into the system, we have a problem known as 'health tourism' here, which is basically people coming for free healthcare and then going home (its not supposed to be free for non-british citizens but we dont seem to be capable of following up unpaid bills). Aside from this and a few other faults, the NHS is a conceptually sound idea and used to work very well, although it hasnt in recent years due to a shift in attitudes towards it (its run as a business with a fixation on meeting quotas and has far too many overpaid managers).Other than that you're right.

If a flag is not allowed to fly in its own country then something is seriously wrong
Im planning on joining in a protest if it happens, i believe i have every right to support the national football team

No offense to anyone, but I'm totally glad to not live in Britain. I mean, after reading the election topic and this one, it strikes me as being.. strange and backwards on a political level.

My non-british uncle lives over there. He says it's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be in these threads.
