Does Pokesav work with retail versions?

With all the hubbub about freezing, I'm considering buying SoulSilver. But, as I am very impatient, I would rather avoid all that breeding business to make my Pokemon's stats as high as they can go. Is it possible to use Pokesav with a retail version of SS or HG, or do I need an emulated version to use the program?Put another way, is it possible to get my save off my card and onto my computer for editing purposes?Thanks. :D

You could probably get the save off your card, but you won't be able to put it back on.
