sometimes you have to ask yourself why does the game industry want nintendo to make an hd console? clearly there is no need for nintendo to have an hd console, but why is there such an urgency for nintendo to have one?you have analyst, journalist, publishers and developers wanting nintendo to have an hd console, but why is there such an urgency for nintendo to have one?

Because everyone wants to be able to enjoy a nice High-Def image and not the regular old image that they used to enjoy..i'm perfectly fine with my standard old tv and non-HD wii!i guess advancing into the digital age has some of its downsides........like demand for something that we do not need!nintendo is doing just fine with the wii and i don't see any reason to have a wii-HD when most of the people i know don't have an HD tv at all!

Because when one part of the entertainment industry jumps, everyone is supposed to jump in order to force out old technology. Still some people refuse to play the game http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/pm/2008/12/a_black_and_white_issue.shtml

People with a High Definition television have to endure the blurry picture that the Wii gives out. That's why I want one, not that I really play my Wii that often anyways. The boost in clarity of the picture would be extremely nice. Even if the graphics are last generation, putting it in HD looks so pretty.

no one is thinking why third party developers and publishes would want nintendo to have an hd console. what everyone keeps answering is why people may want an hd console but those who own a wii don't seem to complain about the wii not having hd.why would ea, ubisoft, activision, etc... would want nintendo to have an hd console. the answer isn't for the consumers because if it was for the consumers, then modern warfare 2 pc gamers wouldn't have gotten screwed over, but they did. so clearly it isn't on the mind for the consumers from these companies.so why would ea, ubisoft, activision etc... want nintendo to have an hd console?

Cite sources to everything you've said please.I'm surprised you still don't have any source to what you're saying.

i don't need to put sources, it's not a debate remember.have you not noticed how third party developers laughted at the wii and say how it's inferior and kept bragging about nintendo should make a 360/ps3 wii console. you can get these type of smirk comments from all the gaming websites. doesn't that suggest that third party developers want nintendo to have an hd console. but why would these developers and publishers want nintendo to have an hd console?remember there was that interview where one of the developers was quoted as calling the wii a fucking genesis. what this suggests is that these developers want nintendo to have an hd console. but why do they want nintendo to have an hd console?

This doesn't mean we can say what we want or make stuff up, I think.

If these comments are as prevalent on gaming websites as you say, it wouldn't be too much trouble to cite them. Of course, given your steadfast refusal to do so and the fact that none of these developer remarks mesh well with reality, the very existence of this information you're disseminating here is thrown into question. In fact, one is forced to wonder whether your trolling is deliberate or if you really do believe your own words. You're also forgetting that the entirety of first-world society, including (hell, especially) Nintendo, is built on capitalism. The Wii is an accomplished seller, but its sales have been limited by its technological inferiority.

i can't post a source because they aren't literally going to say, "ea, ubisoft, etc... want nintendo to make an hd console." what will eventually end up happening is that i will post a quote, then someone will say it "doesn't say that." then i'll have to make an inference for that quote for them to understand. then they will question the inferencing. so now i'll have to inference the inference and then it's a repeat again.but here is a hint, have you not notice how all the third party developers and publishers all complain about wii not having hd. doesn't that tell you that they want nintendo to make an hd console. once nintendo has an hd console, then the third party developers and publishers won't complain about nintendo not having an hd console. so again, why would third party developers and publishers want nintendo to have an hd console?

We're not saying you're wrong, we just want proof to what you say. What you're doing now is similar to saying "my uncle works for Activision and he says there should be a WiiHD" (not true, just an example for example's sake), if you cite a source, we'll believe you, if not, we remain skeptical to what you say.

Uh, no. I haven't noticed. It seems like I'm wasting my time because you're not going to bother replying to any post with logical reasoning.

why game industry want a HD nintendo console?
- Because people demand it, without HD graphic nintendo will fall behind sooner or later. IF nintendo want to stay in the field, HD is needed..... soon Microsoft (and Nintendo if they want to complete) would face a similar problem with Blu-Ray (unless they found something better)

but wii is dying if ps3's motion controller and 360's NATAL comes out...
so it needs HD version to compete with motion-sensing HD consoles which has better fuction tha the wii.

ultrado you ever ask why the game industry want an hd nintendo console?
Because the game industry would like to see games like Assassin's Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 on a WiiHD console?

The reason the industry wants HD is because more and more people are getting into gaming. The majority of the public, regardless of what we're talking about, is superficial. They will judge based on ads, screenshots, and hype. In the same vein, movies are judged for their special effects and stars. What this means in the gaming industry is that the majority of gamers (which are casual) care about graphics more than any other aspect of a game. The more eye candy, the better. What the industry fails to realize is that very few casual gamers remain regular gamers, and fewer still become "hardcore" gamers. They are likely to buy a handful of games for their system, turn it on maybe 3 times a week, and then stop playing once it gets boring. There's no loyalty or sustained interest in the field.Microsoft and Sony have been selling their consoles at a loss ever since the first price drop. One could argue that the PS3 has always been a loss for Sony, since $600 for Blu Ray back in 2006 was a steal and a half. MS and Sony can make up for these losses (releasing expensive consoles before the tech is affordable) with their other divisions; Sony sells various hardware and MS is a software giant.Nintendo? Ever since the late 70s and early 80s, they've been (mostly) all about video games. In their position, they need to turn a profit with every console they make if they want to stay afloat. Obviously, software sales matter more in the long run, but without some profit from the initial sales run, they'll have less funds to develop their in-house software with. With this in mind, it makes sense for Nintendo to hold off on HD until it reaches at least 70% or higher presence in homes. They aim to make their consoles affordable; how many lower or working class people do you know with an HDTV? Thankfully, HD is beginning to get affordable, so Nintendo's next console is pretty much guaranteed to have HD since the SD market is almost dead.Imagine if the Wii had flopped, and had HD. The loss Nintendo would have suffered may have put them out of the console competition this generation (even with the DS's incredible success).tl;dr version: Nintendo only makes games and made a conservative business decision, and most gamers are superficial.
