Could somebody please tell me if it's at all possible to completely turn off Data Execution Prevention? It's really starting to bug me.

yes it is, but its slightly dangerous.Basically you need to find boot.ini (hidden and system file in the root of your system drive), and turn off the readonly mark, then open it in notepad. Somewhere in the boot line will be 'noexecute=OptIn' or 'noexecute=optout'. You need to change that setting to 'noexecute=AlwaysOff' and then save the file, before restoring its readonly setting. This edit is dangerous because if you mess up the line your OS will not boot.
