This is kind of half rant and half serious discussion, from Venezuela a number of criminals have fled the country and the US and colombia have given them the political refugee status, there are two examples i cant think off, both are sligthly old but valid:The First one is Guillermo Zuloaga, a multi billionare, had a number of car selling companies (in which he rareley sold a car despite his books showing a large importation, later it was discovered he had "set aside" a significant number of these cars) he was also the mayoritary share holder of globovision (the main channel that craps lies of the venezuelan situation) and he also had some phantom/ghost companies mixed in, he publically confessed his crimes (there was no one putting a gun on him nor he was threatened in any way, so forced confession is ruled out) he was firstly acused from speculating (idk if that is the correct translation for "especular", but it's mainly the act of selling a product many many many times higher than the true price, picture a 5$ product being sold at 50000$, same thing, same brand, same stuff) when he was finally convicted he fled the country and the US ave him in less than thirty minutes the political refugee status, not to mention he also ordered the murder of all left wing associated people.The Second one is Pedro Carmona Estanga, what did this sir do? he staged a coup de etat (qualifying for betrayal of the country crime) he ordered the murder of all the command chain (at that moment the vice-president and the president of the national assembly) along he staged with other co-conspirators the massacre of the 11th of april (snipers positioned to kill as many left wing and rigth wing people that were protesting that day in an attempt to blame the government) and he also removed all the powers and ministries and absorbed the powers (threw of to the garbage bin the constitution), to say the least he pretty much was acused of every crime that the Venezuelan Penal code contemplates (sans incest and some crimes related to forgery of coins, keys and the base for making the coins), he was give 30 years of house confinement (translating from spanish here, so please be patient with me) he escaped the country and as soon as he landed in colombia the president at that time Uribe gave this monster political refugee status.As a closing comment, up to this day every mayor player on the coup that fled the country and every mayor player that caused the bank crash a few years ago and that fled the country was given this status by the US, not to mention the US refuses to surrender any of these criminals to the Venezuelan law insisting that they were being persecuted by their political ideology (which is fake claim, the current government has not gone after any one with a rigth wing way of tought, the president has been called monkey, bastard, son of a bitch and more in live TV and he hasnt taken action, they have even called his mother and grandma whores).
