Connecting a PS2 to a monitor?

The TV in my room just broke down a few days ago and the only other one is in the living room. I'm not going to bother reparing this one as it was more than 20 years old, neither am I going to relocate my PS2 to the living room as I don't like gaming in a room with a lot of other people who're not gamers. Buying a new TV outright is out of the question as my recent PC purchase has left me without funds. Is there any way to connect it to my monitor? It's a Samsung Syncmaster P2250 and the only ports are 1x VGA and 1x DVI so I'm thinking my only option is a converter box or something of the sort. Preferably one that has an audio out jack into which I can connect my speakers/headphone.I tried googling a bit and the only ones I can find are VGA to composite/component and not the other way 'round. Thought I'd ask here since there is a chance someone here has already done it.So TL;DR:- Need a way to connect PS2 to monitor. Looking at converters which take in composite/component signals and output through VGA and an audio port (3.5mm, I think).

Never tried, might want to ask Loonylion. However, seems like your question is similar to this case : http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=63209.0. In which case as you'd already mentioned will need a convertor box.

yeah you would need a converter box, and it seems they're somewhat harder to find these days (the one I have doesn't appear to be made anymore)
