This thread is for comments and critique of graphics work. The easiest was of getting better is to be told what you have done wrong. This thread will not be 'easy' on you and critique may be harsh at times. Once again no genuine flaming or 'dissing'

How about changing the color of the text to
A) something easier to recognize( no my eyes are perfectly fine)
B) something that corresponds with the other colors used in the sigother than that its good.

I did rush the text a bit, so i can understand that, I hate text, style and font placing and stuff ;D

I think working on the text can be quite fun I mean with all the Blending Options and Filters around

OK... Text can be the hardest thing to get right, and youve just proved that. That text is hard to read, too big, placed in a bad place and doesnt flow with the sig at all. Also a border would help to complete the sig, after you fix the text. You can find awesome text at www.dafont.com.

Second one, first ones glow is off place and looks odd. Also from my point of view your canvas is too high for a sig, I usually keep to 150px high to keep things simple. Render is OK however your BG shows opposite light patterns which looks a little odd. Also you need a border, and dont give me that im too lazy crap, its simple enough to make a new layer, select all, stroke at 3-4px then blend. Finally text is pretty bad, try making it blend to the sig a little more, also its way too big and is placed pretty bad, you should have put it at the bottom. Because of the size of the text and the size of the canvas, along with no border and a altogether dullish render (try using blending options to add a drop shadow or glow) I cant focus on any one point, which means your sig doesnt really have a focal point. This was probly the first downfall as usually a sig should have a focal point FIRST for you to build the rest of the sig around.Other than that its a nice start.

Well actually a border does exist in it but sadly I have to admit that in this sig a "inner shadow" border doesn't make as much sense as in yours(in case you change it: the one with the bullet). As for the canvas I was only 10 pixels too high(160)Is this somehow better?(except the focal point)
plus:
the "I'm too lazy crap" means I often find it hard (I really do) to choose the right border and as that takes too much time I end up without onean thanks for the advice pal ;-)

I prefer the second one you did to be honest CainMaster, some people like borders on sigs but I thought the inner shadow worked well on it; faded oranges to black on the border looks better than a strange sudden black to brown/orange border. But I guess its whatever you prefer.

I seem to like the first one better because of the mist showing and making the Cain Masters more visible. Nice sig

Today's subject is Seirei no Moribito ;D. I used some special effects on the sword, it was originally light blue.I want to know how you think about the sword with the effects and the composition of the sig.

That effect you did on the sword looks pretty cool, like the dark and yellow, red effects, it's a job well done.

to be all honest the sword is pretty horrible, I would have suggested cutting around the edge of the sword, copying it and pasting it in a new layer, adding a glow and perhaps a blur and then overlaying it. it just doesnt fit into the rest of the sig, mostly because the main lightsource is blue, having a red/orange main light and a blue lighting theme just looks wrong. also text is way too big and the height is too big to be a sig. try sticking to 150px
