more facts about satanism and paganism coming up: There are also missinterpretations of Pagan being the same as Satanist(or one being Satanic) it is not however, Pagans and Satanists are very different, though some simmalarities may be this does not make them the same. Many Pagans of this modern day society are about positive energy(though balance with the negative is sometimes practiced to keep in what is believed by some is healthy) and has nothing to do with dwelling in evil thoughts, desires, actions, etc. where as Satanist is where it is of evil, and focusing on the negative.

I'm an ecclectic wiccan (meaning I don't strictly follow wicca, I mix and match to make my own version of it, e.g I cast spells, I'm attuned to egyptian and greek goddesses and I celebrate christian holidays (namely christmas).I agree with your point on free hosted webpages though. Angelfire used to annoy the hell out of me because it never seemed to work. Thankfully theres relatively few sites hosted on it now.

I would like to clear up some misconceptions about Satanism. Although I am not a Satanist I have had many dealings with people who classify themselves as such. (my thoughts are generalistic and only relate to Satanists who actually know what they are talking about)Satanism has two distinct branches, atheistic and theistic.Atheistic Satanists recognise the individuality of the self and seek to promote that as a basis of human civilisation. It is difficult to generalise their beliefs as they are wildly divergent. I can say that all real Satanic religious groups trace their origin or inspiration to pre-biblical times. They do not consider themselves anti-Christian as such, they do say that the concept of Satan in the bible is incorrect, and is more about racial and cultural bigotry than theological argument. Like the atheistic Satanists they believe in the pursuit of liberty for all man but unlke the atheists they feel that this can be accomplished through religious belief.There are some Satanic groups who are openly hostile to religion. Their hostility is primarily directed towards the Abrahamic religions, namely Judasim, Islam and Christianity, they are generally more tolerant towards Hinduism, Buddism, Taoism, Paganism, ect. as they feel that these latter religions hold valuable knowledge about the human self and contain tools that can liberate and enlighten.
Other Satanists do not concern themselves much with religion as they feel that their own pursuit of liberty is more important than liberating those who wish to be like sheep.So Satanism is not equivalent to anti-Christianity, as the idea of Satan, and also Lucifer, is much older than the Bible. Also, Satanists should not be confused with those who practice magick or the occult arts. Many Satanists do make use of magical techniques in the same way that many (esoteric)Chrisitans do, but occultism should be seen as a tool and not defined by those who use it.Having met many Satanists from all over the world I can honestly say they are usually quite polite, intelligent, engaging and loving people. There are of couse the idiots that you will find in any group, but the average Satanist is usually a nice person.

it does seem like you've captured my point in this debate. but still it doesn't seem to answer my questions. you see dude, life goes on anyway whether you're christian or satanist, black or white, girl or boy, gay or not gay. Satanist is not the oldest religion, and it's way too different from paganism based on my references. I just wondered why satanists mock and question other beliefs but not question they're religion, how it came to be, what are the lies about satanism, the mistakes, what's wrong with it. They always question religions without even questioning they're own. Soo are you telling me there are a lot of mistakes christianity made thyough the years? that it is a lie? and satanism hasn't done anything bad or cruel? why do they exaggerate about christianity? reasearch about it and question it, why dont they just look at they're own history. I am quite sure that all religions are guilty of attacking anyone who does not agree with them, I am not sure why you choose to highlight Satanism. You speak of revenge and revolt against faith, as I said before many Satanists are atheists, and many never had a religion to revolt against. There is nothing wrong with people choosing to alter their faith, freedom of thought and religion is a good thing.I did not claim Satanism is the oldest religion, but it certainly pre-dates Judaism.
