Chinese Animal Slaughter (Explicit Language, sort of)
B
http://youtube.com/watch?v=SQgFfEMUS4cHas anyone watched this video on YouTube about Chinese people killing animals? The comments are all like "I hate Chinese people" and "I hope they die". First of all, they should acquire the BRAIN the notice that NOT ALL FUCKING CHINESE PEOPLE ARE LIKE THAT. Secondly, they should notice that Americans kill animals too. For the American IDIOTS out there, how about fucking going online and looking up what beef is made out of? No, not lettuce. It's made out of COWS that are killed just as GRUESOMELY as the dogs in China. Just because farming villages in China don't have factories filled with machines which automatically slit the throat of each animal that passes through doesn't make the Chinese fucking cruel, heartless monsters. In their minds, according to the video, "more torture = more taste". What the fuck? Are they trying to stereotype Chinese people? Are they trying to make us look bad without even thinking about what THEY are doing to THEIR animals? That YouTube video really pisses me off. The ignorance and idiocy of so many Americans piss me off.And if you didn't infer from the last paragraph of vulgarities, I'm Chinese. Thank you for reading.

Well it's pretty obvious you're Chinese :P I don't know why people think like that, once a majority of a certain group of people do something bad, they think the rest of them are like that.

Those people in that video should be killed, exactly the same way they killed those animals: skinned alive while they're flailing for their lives. For being so evil to defenseless animals, for having no regard for other living beings, they're no less than scum. I could barely even start to watch before I felt sick to my stomach.
And that's regardless of whether or not it happens worldwide, which it certainly does. Anyone from any country who behaves like that should be punished, and being poor is no excuse. Being unable to kill an animal with a fancy factory, equipped with spikes that go through the brain or any other method, doesn't mean you're unable to kill it the "old-fashioned" way before you start tearing it limb from limb. If you have a knife to skin it, you have the means to kill it. Even a rock would work. It may be not exactly be humane but it's a hell of a lot better than letting the poor animal die in slow agony.
Those people in the video were heartless monsters, but was it because they were Chinese? No, it was their actions, not their race. I'm certainly no expert on the Chinese culture but I doubt being Chinese had anything to do with it. I guess you can't expect a bunch of idiot YouTube users to understand that, though. If they're willing to suggest that we nuke China, well, that sums up their intelligence pretty well, if you ask me.
We will not nuke China. Sorry.I do have to mention, however, that singling out Americans for spouting racist garbage on that video isn't exactly right. Looking through the profiles of most of the people who said things such as "nuke China!", "I want to kill them all!", and so on, only so many were from America. I saw quite a few from Canada, Germany, Italy, the UK, and some other countries. Not to mention the one who posted the video in the first place is from Japan.

While I know little about the means Chinese people use to kill animals, I do know that traditional Chinese medicine is one of the biggest threats to some of the world's most endangered species. It is time that practitioners of said Chinese medicine stopped living in the past and accepted that eating a tigers heart will not cure you of anything; it will not make you brave or whatever it is said to do, all it does is deprives the world of another tiger, and it is predicted that by 2010 they will be extinct. Chinese medicine is not the only threat, but it is one of the biggest.

I couldn't watch the first 30 seconds, I was ready to throw up already, but I don't beleive all people are like that, maybe 10% at the highets, but it's a small percent compared to the 90%

You're also American right ? ::)

You take that view on traditional Chinese medicine,
yet you yourself practice witchcraft.....
That sounds like a contradiction to me....

Witchcraft teaches respect and love for nature, we do not kill or maim creatures. Sure we have ritual fires, made with dead wood picked up from the ground, not branches cut from live trees. In fact, quoting from the long version of our rede:
Bide the Wiccan Laws we must
In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give....Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree,
By the Lady, blessed be.....Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
An ye harm none, do what ye will.
(minus some irrelevant parts about the seasons and the moon phases)
In fact, one of the goddesses I am personally attuned to is Bast, the Egyptian goddess of cats. Witches do not use animal parts in potions or rituals, we use herbs and precious/semi precious stones and incense. Anything else you read about is a fairytale witch.

I'm not referring to the fact that Chinese medicine uses animal parts...
I'm just wondering how you can say Chinese medicine doesn't work...
Yet witchcraft yields effects ?
I'm sure you will say practicing witchcraft does have beneficial effects for you....
Who am I to disagree ?
But can you say that eating a Tiger's heart doesn't cure you of something or make you brave ?
Chinese medicine also relies heavily on herbal remedies....which
do work in many cases...
A company, was recently given a traditional use licence for their Devil's Claw based products....
Devils Claw has been used as a treatment for inflammatory diseases for centuries and has no side-effects
unlike the drugs pharmaceutical companies come up with....
C
dont give me that, all religions are stupid...but wikka wicka or whatever they wanna call themselves has to be their leader...I mean come on, ooooh Im gonna cast a spell on you ROFL
L
I never said Chinese medicine does not work. I said eating a tigers heart does nothing. herbal remedies are as much a feature of the present as they were of the past.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. However, no matter what you may think of our spellcasting or rituals, you will be hard pressed to deny that a moral code teaching mutual respect and compassion for all living entities is a good thing.

I hate to resort to saying it but....where's your proof ?
You can't prove eating a tigers heart doesn't do anything,
and by the same token codemeister can't prove that Witchcraft is stupid...
Besides...eating a tigers heart would make me feel pretty ****ing brave....
And aren't their tribes in Africa who do the same thing ?

No. The Massai Morani (young warriors) have to kill a lion with a spear as their 'coming of age' ritual. They also have to recover from the ordeal, as one Morani proved when he survived the lion, successfully killing it as the ritual demanded, only to be attacked and killed by a pack of hyenas while in his weakened state.

There is scientific proof that herbal remedies are beneficial, not so animal parts. They were used as 'cures' for the black death in England; we know now they did nothing to help.

Firstly, remember the black death wasn't exclusive to England...
and everything was used as a 'cure' then....
People would surround themselves with smelly things and herbs and whatnot...
Imagine trying to ward off disease with a car air-freshener ? ;D

WinterreiseAnyone remember the video of the US Soldier throwing a puppy off a cliff?Yeah, fuck him.
My sentiments captured flawlessly in those last two words. :P
And yes, all throughout the world animals are killed. It's nothing new. There will always be people who hate entire demographics because of what one or several people do; Race, nationality, sex, the list goes on.

Back on topic, please. ::)

it looks like a mixed of everything, not only eating but also skinning for fur and such.it's not cruel in a traditional stand point and tradition is something that one should not question unless those who follow it are ready to change it. you follow religion and it's a form of tradition [going to church, performing sacred rituals, etc...]. what about the africans who perform circumcision on women or peope who circumcise men for tradition.remember that this is china, there is a huge population in the country that wants to eat. if there is a small amount of food that one can afford, then you'll more then likely kill animals on the streets or anything that is an animal. what about the gorillas, lions, elephants and so on that other people have killed in africa, australia [possums and kangaroos], philipines [half developed eggs] and so on.the animals being skinned alive is to preserve the meat. if you kill the animals and then skinned them, it will rot on your journey to sell them. but while they are still alive [barely] the meat will not rot as fast but other things may start to happen, like a development of germs and bacteria on the animals flesh as well as infection being developed in the animals bloodstream.it looks like most of them are performed in the outer regions of the city, more like in the desert area, and those places are definely more then like to have these things.btw, i do believe everyone is in topic because the discussion about medicine is tradition as tradition is hard to break and includes the mutilation of animals and medicine uses animals.

killing lions is a completely different matter to killing tigers; tigers are on the verge of extinction, lions are not. I worked on a game reserve in South Africa just over two years ago; we had more lions than we knew what to do with, and so many elephants that we were giving them contraceptives (no joke). Extinction is a one way journey; once the tigers are gone it is permanent.

why should we [maybe i should say i] care?!

because it is people with that attitude that are destroying the planet for future generations.

we don't have to kill animals to kill the planet. we've started a long time ago and i'm not only talking about pollution or war either.
