our provider was experiencing a DDoS attack (aimed at another customer) which caused problems on their network.

distributed denial of service. It's basically when a botnet is used to flood a server with data until it crashes or drops offline.

LOL, i had problems connecting to this site a few hours ago...

I see that now. :PWhen I IM'd Loony to see as to why it was down, he just said a DDoS attack, and they were gonna do something...
