This is my opinion. I'm a somewhat serious gamer when it comes to playing a Call of Duty game. I just don't log on, go into Free-For-All and just shoot people. I play with my friends (Real school friends) and we like to win. Win it legit, without using things that about 75% of the gaming community dislike. When we win without those advantages, it feels good. This is what we (mostly me, I haven't really asked them, but I know what they like and dislike) want and don't want in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Before you say anything, like the trolls that say Call of Duty sucks... I also love the Halo series and other games. So best to keep your trash talk out of here, unless you have some comprehensive argument I can stand debating with you.
What CoD:BO should take out from WaW:
Spoiler
Too big of maps (Big Maps should ONLY be in Ground War, not S&D and TDM...damn Sealow, Roundhouse, Outskirts and Downfall)
Vehicles (Or have a playlist with no Vehicles or vice versa)
Grenade Launchers (A Grenade Launcher 'Noob Tube' should replace a perk or secondary, I also hated people who relied on anything but their normal gun to kill people)
Balancing of guns (World At War actually meant MP40's at War)
Juggernaut (If people think it's to counter Stopping Power, take that out too then)
Matyrdom (Everyone hates this, if you use this, you're a douchebag)
Extended Mags (I'm not really against it, but it balances a lot of things)
Semi-Automatic Auto Lock-Up in Campaign (C'mon, it's Campaign, you should be able to shoot as fast as multiplayer, in campaign guns shot so slow)
Rarely used perks (Shades, Fireproof, Reconnaissance...)
Things to keep from WaW:
Spoiler
Connection and Game Finding (Having the local feature was brilliant, I rarely got a game with bad connection)
Map Packs (They were fast and constant, love the extra content)
Nazi Zombies (This was one of the best things about WaW, make it Commie Zombies or something rather)
Taking Feedback from Hardcore/Casual Gamers (They were damn right QUICK with glitches and bugs)
Modded Controller Lock Up (I LOVED this, even though many bypassed it, my friend got a modded controller for free from his friend that made it for a Senior Project, and everytime he tried to use it, it locked up. Success!)
WAR (One of the best playlists...seriously)
Individual Game Type Stats (They showed your ratios in every game type, I liked this)
In Game Lobby Stats (So you could see other players, if they have cheated and what not, or see if someone is utterly terrible (; )
Custom Audio Settings (Where you can manually lower certain volumes, great for footsteps, etc)
What NOT to learn from MW2:
Spoiler
Commando (Do I even have to start?)
One Man Army (This is ridiculously broken with grenade launchers)
Killstreaks Counting Towards Other Killstreaks (This is what MADE people camp, also game ending kill streaks, even if there are some, only do it in kill based games types)
Modding (This game is so easily broken, so many modders and jtaggers can take advantage of the game, modding your gamertag takes literally 10 minutes with no cost)
Boosting Lobbies (I hated this, also randomly getting into one)
Overpowered Weapons/Equipment (UMP is basically the MP40. Everyone uses Semtex and Claymores. Rarely do you see someone with frags or C4's. 1 Burst Kills tick many players off. The only balanced assault rifles are the M4, SCAR-H, F2000 and AK-47. TAR-21 is borderline. It kicks a lot, but has a lot of power. ACR is way too accurate, spite it's power, you can just hold the shoot button on one spot and it doesn't even kick. The FAL can kill in 2 body shots. FAMAS and M16 are 80% 1 burst kills. The UMP just makes you want to not use any other SMG. The P90 and Mini-Uzi are very balanced though. MP5k is borderline and the Vector is rarely used, unless you're a friend of mine, it's his favorite gun. The LMGs are LMGs, they're all the same to me, I haven't played with them much, but I haven't had a problem with them. The Snipers...please have more bolt-action. That's all I have to say. Shotguns, pistols and launchers...I'll get to that)
Secondary Shotguns (No. People treated shotguns as their primary and wrecked havoc, I mean, the Model 1887s were nerfed, but the SPAS-12 is basically the same thing with fore grip)
Scavenger (The ammo was nice, but picking up ammo for the grenade launcher and equipment is too much, basically an indirect One Man Army, better than OMA, but virtually the same thing)
Tactical Knife (This just made people NOT use their guns)
Blast Shield (I use this effectively at times [Using RPGs or AT4s] but it's just a waste)
Akimbo (Just think about this, Pistols I understand, but do you really see anyone with Akimbo UMPs and P90s?)
Map Rotation (I swear I play Storm a million times since the map pack, do what the Halo: Reach Beta did and be able to help with the rotation)
Making Prestige Mode even MORE worth it (I mean, I understand people have lives, but this just defeats the purpose. If you rarely and I mean rarely play this game, sure don't prestige. But if you play this a lot and have 15+ days and are still at non-prestige, you would have been at least 8th by now. What's the fun with not unlocking everything again?)
Stupid Attachments (Thermal, this is what makes me use Cold-Blooded so much. People just hold the zoom in button and scan for people across the map, sure I guess it's 'realistic', but the Call of Duty series is far from it [Multiplayer wise]. Plus, riot shields don't create heat, and chickens do. Which made no sense. Heartbeat sensor isn't a real thing, CoD isn't science-fiction, it's war. That's not the real ACOG sight either.)
Spawning System (I thought they learned their lesson, if the other team is within a range, DON'T spawn them next to you, even if you're not looking, just have them on the other side of the map)
DLC (Not $15 thanks, even though I'll buy it anyways...)
Useless perks (Scrambler..., even though Scrambler Pro is beast...only in hardcore)
Useless killstreaks (Attack Helicopter, Precision Airstrike, EMP [Somewhat, should do more])
Short Campaign (This took me like 8 hours to beat on Veteran)
PARTY CHAT (This really ticked most of my friends off, I understand this COMPETITIVELY, but if you're playing with friends and you want to have a good time, like with other friends playing another game, just leave it be...if this is still in, please just have it in S&D where it makes sense, having it in Deathmatch is just stupid)
NO DEATHSTREAKS (Painkiller is worse than juggernaut, and Final Stand is a joke when you have last stand, Copycat is useless)
What to learn from MW2:
Spoiler
Callsigns/Titles/Emblems (Totally stole off of SFIV, but they're fun. They should make ones a little bit more unique and harder to get because some were awesome, but way too easy to unlock. A lot are overused and some you never see anyone wear because it's weird. But keep this, it's a great addition, for the first month I was so intrigued like "Whoa! How'd you get that emblem/title?" etc. Now it's "Wow, that dude has the Spinning 10th Prestige emblem/1000 Javelin Multi-Kills, what a boosting faggot", etc.)
Challenges (This kept me going and still is, I love all the attachment challenges, headshots and the bonuses. They're great)
Maps (Okay, everyone hates like 2 or 3 maps [*cough*Rundown, Karachi, Underpass*cough*, but most of the maps are very great and balanced [Crash, Invasion, High Rise, Favela (:]
Toggle Mute (Genius, no more 12 year olds screaming into their mic)
Pro Perks (I actually enjoyed getting these, some actually were rewarding [Marathon made you climb faster, it's great] but some were stupid, stopping power pro was more damage to vehicles, too bad when I want to destroy a helicopter I switch to cold-blooded stinger)
Spec Ops (It was fun while it lasted, could have been WAY better)
That senseless vibe that made people want to just keep playing even if it makes you mad (You know what I'm talking about)
Lots of Guns (Even though certain few or overused, there is a lot, that's good)
New/Unlisted Things:
Spoiler
Sniper/Limited Weapon only gametype (This will put smiles on many faces, like Sniper ONLY, or no Snipers, etc)
Certain Gametypes on Hollidays just for fun (Like what Halo did, I mean, you can make games in private matches, that make some games fun, so why not make that into a real playlist for a short time?)
BRING OLD SCHOOL BACK (Mostly for Private Matches because they made it so much better)
Be Able To Edit a few things on the map for Private Matches (Moving objective areas to somewhere else, the better imagination, the more fun!)
MLG Gametype (Just like in Halo, for all the wannabes who play Gamebattles, just do it on this, where instead of doing private matches, the settings are correct, and it'd be cool if you could only join with at least a team of 4 so you don't go in messing people up)
Bring back...the M40A3....please. (This gun is used still, since 1966, the perfect time setting for this gun to shine, and make it exactly as it was in CoD4)
If you would like to add to this, reply!
