Cabela's North American Adventure: No save option

I recently got Cabela's North American Adventures. However, when I try to leave the game, there is no way to save and the game itself tells me that if I just leave, my entire Career data will be deleted. I have three hours to figure this out.MANY thanks for answers, I'm in hysterics.
