Books on ds
K
Hi - so i'm reading books on my ds with libris - the files need to be in xhtml - i have several books in pdf which i was adding to an email, viewing in html and then converting to xhtml with html tidy but some of the pdf files are too big to display fully in html.
Is there an easier (but still free!) way to do this - convert pdf to xhtml?
Please help out this noob!!

I haven't done much reading on my DS but I think this program might work.PDF to HTML Converter 2.0: http://www.safe-install.com/programs/pdf-to-html-converter.htmlYou can give it a try and see if it works out, I believe it is free by the way.
You can try Googling some software that are free and able to convert files.
For example type in "pdf to xhtml converter" or "free pdf to xhtml converter" and look at certain converters that are up for downloading.

Hi
Thanks for your help - but it'll only do 5 pages of the document in the trial version unless you buy the software - that seems to be the problem with most of these, i have searched google etc but all the trial versions have these sort of limitations - i was hoping someone knew a free way to do this
Thanks anyway :)

Try DSReader or ReadMoreAlpha. Both of these are freeware and both of them work. Unfortunately they are both flawed in different ways but if you can put up with some slight text formatting issues either of them are usable. They both read .txt files so no conversion is necessary.

i tried dsreader when i was looking for something to read on my ds with but it's like moonshell - you only use one screen, i like the libris reader as you can hold it like a book and read off the two screens - unfortunately the xhtml requirement is a pain. Haven't heard of ReadMoreAlpha but i'll give it a try - thanks for the advice!
