Anyone knows how to get free comps from stores?

I don't mean stealing or anything, but like if they have functioning ones they gotta get rid of. I need one but don't have the dough. Or does anyone here not want theirs?

you wont get free ones from a store. You could try a school that might be getting rid of older machines, particularly if they're about to have a refit (probably too late this year) or try freecycle. Where do you live?

I got two free computers from my high school :)

Well, my school has new Macs and I doubt they'd give them. Do you guys know any other place that gives away decent rigs? (Not the obvious like craigslist and etc. They give crap comps.)

they'd give you the old computers that were replaced by the new ones. I got dozens of computers from my school, and actually still have a couple of them.

I guess I could try asking. But Loonylion, can u let one of them go?

depends where you live, and I doubt you'd want any of my school cast offs, they were ancient when I was given them about 8 years ago.

oh man really? Xerinia i3 is awesome. Do u have any spares? Seriously guys, I don't want an i7 gaming comp from school or somewhere nor do i expect it. I just want one to play/tinker with.

mine had celerys at that point. the ones they ditched and gave me were 486s and K6/PIIs I still have at least 2 K6s, and an 8088.

well hemispheres are usually south and north, but EST is at least something to go on.
