antivirus vanished

ok this has gone no for a month or so im just now getting around to posting but, HOW can a antivirus just dissapear, one day i could scan for viruses and the next my antivirus is gone. i cant scan anything and the antivirus program folders are empty. what could have caused thismy antivirus is symantec by the way

someone with common sense could have uninstalled it. Get a decent AV. Alternatively, it's not unheard of for viruses to remove antivirus programs.

but i dont have viruses, although i cant tell now theres no signs of virus, system running, fine no unexpected popups,

viruses dont cause popups, and a lot of viruses dont do anything until they're triggered

1. type www.google.com in your adress bar
2. Search for AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition.
3. Download it.
4. Install it.
5. Let it Scan.
6. Do whatever you was doing.

So then why you so worried? It's not your computer, but the schools. Let them take care of it. Just say you don't know what is going on here, you're not good with computers and then they can deal with it :)

they usaly replace broke computers, but i messed up something else and i dont want to replace this computer till i fix it

if you want to just fix it before you let teh school handle it, cuz reset it's memory, as in hitting I think it's f11 on that black and white start up screen thingy. that way it'll be as if you just got it 0_0btw, I'm assuming you're talkin about online schooling right?
