Animal Crossing Statue Help

I recently paid off my ENTIRE DEBT and Tom said he would build a statue. Whenever I go to the Acre with the statue on it my
game freezes and quits saying program is not Responding (VISTA) Is there a fix, patch,or another ROM that fixes this problem?

You said the program crashed and not responding.
What emulator do you use actually ?
