I remember when they ate half of freshly baked cake, which was standing on a table... they jumped on it from a chair which was standing too close, and not only they pretty much ruined our dessert, but one got sick afterwards :P

I wouldn't recommend turtles. They bite and can take chunks of meat out of you with a single bite. The problem is that you want something to play with, but mouses, hamsters and guinnea pigs are not something you can play with. A small dog would be a better choice, but Chiuauas are not that pretty, XD. Maybe you should consider a small dog breed apart from Chiuauas?

Budgies are nice, cute and lively. It actually depends on whether younger like hyper or something like that.
