A good desktop record for recording an emulator

i play on doing a clear walkthrough videos on pokemon B & W http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=47672.0i am needing a recorder that records smooth and clear to upload, i found one its sucks ass (camsomething) so far that's itany recommendations (i used to record with ubuntu but it does not work anymore ;( )?

fraps only works on programs using direct3d, and it massively hits your framerate.
