the game that redefined my life... So good.
This game is absolutely amazing. The story is one of the best I've ever experienced. It's a bit like an amazing book with interactive elements (see: puzzles). But it is without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read. I felt so much dread and anticipation while playing, I played it pretty much straight until I finished. I lost sleep because I woke up in the middle of the night with thoughts and theories. My friend had to stop playing if it got dark because the creep-factor is so well done. Any list over the best DS games that doesn't include 999 is automatically invalid.
This is an amazing game. It's a mature game though. I guess it fits into a visual novel point-click game. How is it mature? There are some very descriptive passages about people blown up. If you're looking for a good storyplot, this game is for you. If you're the type that cares more about gameplay than fun, then I'd recommend you click the back button on your browser.
999 has a really interesting story, it was hard to stop playing, because I always wanted to know more and uncover the whole truth that was hidden. The story has everything you could wish for - a bunch of different characters with nice character development and some plot-twists, most of which you probably won't see coming. Basically this game consists of several "escape the room" sequences and many puzzles of all sorts, but it also has lots of text, since it's obviously a story-driven game, kind of like an interactive book. This games has 6 different endings - 3 "normal" ones, which you will see when you fullfill no specific conditions and play out depending on your final choice, and 3 "special" ones for which you have to fullfill some conditions. Once you finish the game either one way or another, you will obviously see one of the endings - afterwards a new icon on the menu pops up (depends on the ending) and you can restart the game "with memories" where you are also able to fast-forward through text you have already seen, so that you can solve all puzzles and see all stories.
So, I downloaded this game a while ago and have to say it was one of the best games i've ever played. With so many endings(I think there's seven or eight...) and a different story every time you play(well, maybe not every time...) you will have a TON of FUN while playing this game. But the game may not be for everyone because not everyone likes text-based adventures. Yeah, i know the game is two years old, and many of you already have played it but try it out anyway! It may be something you can't let your hands off when you've begun playing it for awhile.Definitely check out 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors I think this game is perfect the way it is and there's also a sequel coming out for the 3DS: "Virtue's last reward". Release date is still TBA but i will buy it if it's released in Europe. !
